  10 Fun Facts about Akita's

   - Before these dogs were referred to as Akita, humans called them snow country dogs.

Akita's began in the snowy mountains in Japan. They used to hunt boar, elk, and yezo bear.

- Akita's have webbed toes

This used to help the dogs walk on snow easier

- This breed is in love with the cold weather

When it is snowing outside, and Akita will go out and roll themselves in the snow, it's also their favorite time to go and hunt squirrels in your backyard.

- Hellen Keller was the first to bring an Akita to the U.S.

We should all be thanking Hellen Keller for this!

- Each Akita has a different looking tail - like a humans fingerprint

If you see a group of Akita's, the tails may look the same. Trust me, there is a difference.
